Our House Warming

On Friday the 3rd of Feb, the planning and preparation for the big house warming began! Starting with the Underberg nursery. Thanks to Luan for stocking us up with loads of beautiful flowers for our garden. Charles and Luan were a huge help. They brought plates, bowls, chairs for the house warming, and they brought our piano from Joan! We couldn't have done it without you guys.

Next up was the arrival of my parents and grandparents. They drove a long way to be with us for our house warming. Here's Phillip, my dad and my grandad watching the cricket like 3 peas in a pod. Thank you so much for being here, and for bringing all that food! We will certainly be stocked up for a while. Also, thanks Aunty Susie for the preserves!

On Saturday morning, after my mom and I got back from our appointment with Kim Crouch, the Baking began. Here are the famous Cornish Pasties, with a special mention to the "tiny baby" Cornish Pasty on the right. I baked that specially for Phillip because he just couldn't wait till the house warming to sample one! I also made a big apple crumble with apples from William and Roxy's apple tree, and a bar one pudding that went down very well on the night! I'll have to put that recipe on my blog, seeing as though everyone was asking for it!

Once the everything was in place, I was free to shower and get ready, while people started to trickle in. Soon enough, the house was packed with people. There was music, chatting, braaing and of course rugby! Struan, thanks for lending us your huge braai, it worked out so well! And thanks to Jules Stone, Roxy Luan, Karen, my parents and grandparents for bringing all that food! Luan, your potato bake was so delicious.

Sunday rolled around quicker than any of us expected, and it was already time for my parentals to leave. We had such a good time. Thanks for coming everyone! Rene,Karen,Pam Stone and Pam Storah: thank you for my beautiful pom pom tree, the vinyl art and mag, the book on love and respect and the pretty candle and wine! And last but not least, thank you Kanyo for coming in the next morning and cleaning up the house!

Lots of love

Rosie
