Our family holiday in Plett. Best ! :)

How beautiful is Plett !! walking onto that beach for the first time since the wedding was a real breath of fresh air. This was without a doubt the best Plett holiday I've ever had. It was also my first christmas spent with my hubby.
Beach days with the fam were a regular occurrence. Here's my mum living it up with a shandy. cutest. the water was super warm this year, which made for great swimming, or frolicking as Phillip calls it. :) We also got stuck into beach tennis in a big way. and the odd snooze on the beach usually followed a trip to chip n dip :)
As the holiday wore on we started to get a bit inventive. that was our last swim when we decided to go big! it's a mermaid, just in case you haven't noticed!

Our last day in Plett was spent at our favourite restaurant, Enrico's. Phillip definitely ordered the best meal- a big fat juicy steak. which is what i should have ordered! they also have great ravioli and calzoni's (folded pizza).

I'm super grateful to my mum for cutting phillip's hair. it was getting so long! He's got such a nice head of hair. good news for my puggies :) aka: our kids in the future.
We had the best time with my beautiful niece, Rachel. Candice and Andrew are so blessed with this little angel. she is just the cutest thing. sorry i didn't rotate the photo before i loaded it!
My mum, sisters and I visited Claire's coffee and cake shop. Claire did my wedding cake. She did such an amazing job. here's my slice of red velvet cake, the most delicious cake i have ever eaten! Natasha had a yummy organic energy bar. delish!
Phillip took me on a lot of very special dinners. Here are our cocktails at the Lookout Deck, another favourite restaurant of ours. We waited in a long queue- but it was so worth it in the end! Just look at that view. I had delicious Kingclip bites, yum yum. Cornuti's was another restaurant we had dinner at, and our wonderful waitress Layla Heyns treated us like royalty! thanks friend :) so chuffed to have seen you again.
Here's Phillip eating one of Natasha's delicious cupcakes. She's a brilliant baker, and we all fight over her goods! :)
I cooked spaghetti bolognese for the fam one night. there's my recipe book on the left! and my drink on the right :) Phillip is the cutest hubby ever. he is my official bar man.
We were very fortunate to spend a lot of time with the grandies. They are just the sweetest ever! they've been married for 55 years and are still going strong!
For new years we had a "minute to win it" night with the fam, and i won! at the end there was a tie breaker between Phillip and I. My prize was breakfast at the deck. how stunning is this dress ?! I got it for christmas from my mum in law Luan. I love it! It's my new favourite dress.

My dad, Phillip and Andrew were the orchestrators of many a braai. almost every night was a braai night! as you can see in the background, in typical Thorp fashion, there is a very inventive braai stand supporting a rusy old weber. very original :)

I was a bit of a sad sack on our last day, as I packed up all our stuff. As you can see there was a lot to take home! We had such a haul for christmas this year! woohoo :) all those boxes are sitting next to me as i type. I've got a lot to do today! There is a creature living in our house that wees and poos on our lounge floor at night, and it has been very busy while we were away! oh boy.
Here's a cool wind turbine I saw between PE and Plett. the journey home took us 12 hours! it's a grueling trip, but so worth it! when milo saw us he jumped up and down, whimpering and barking! What a cutie. He was so excited that while we were watching tv he climbed in through the kitchen window. He was sopping wet from the rain so we layed out some newspaper on the lounge floor, upon which he curled up and fell fast asleep! Today the weather is absolutely stunning! Waking up to the sun shining through the curtains is my favourite thing. the grass has grown to a length that Luan describes as "soul destroying" haha :) and guess what else - Button arrives today! our new addition to the family. a black Labrador pup to keep Milo company and help him guard our nest. We are so excited! Watch this space for photies. ! eek :)

lots of love
